Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

As part of the world and country-wide response to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), ATF is paying close attention to advice provided by the UK Government and charity sector leaders.
The WHO have declared a Pandemic, and the UK’s Chief Medical Officers have raised the risk to the UK from low to moderate. We have drafted an internal policy, have checked our activities against this policy, and are currently reviewing our planned events for 2020.  We will make a decision by mid-April about our events in 2020.
For now, we are instructing our team, trustees and volunteers (including regional groups, working groups, and anyone who speaks on behalf of the ATF) to only undertake work for the ATF from home, until further notice – this includes not attending meetings, events or other activities in person.
Regional groups and people working a local area: you should also refer to your local director of Public Health and their guidance.
We are following Government and charity sector advice closely, and considering the risk to all of our stakeholders.
This information will also be available for everyone to see on our website later today and we will post again on the website, and email you directly, as and when the situation changes, or if our review results in cancellations of events.
If we do run events, we would recommend that everyone follow NHS hygiene advice: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
If you are booked on one of our events, and we do run them, we encourage you to make your own decisions based on keeping yourself updated about advice for travel, limiting travel and self-isolation relevant to your own personal situation. In short – it is your decision about whether you wish to attend, and we fully understand if you wish to cancel.
Should you wish to cancel, please get in touch as soon as you can – admin@ancienttreeforum.co.uk
We do have a cancellation policy that allows you to choose to transfer your place at one of our training events to a future event, and in addition we will be waiving our postponement administration fee in recognition that if you are choosing to cancel due to COVID-19 then you are keeping yourself or vulnerable people safe.
If you choose to transfer your place to a future event, note that we do not have any space on upcoming events at present. We will place you on a waiting list and we will inform you of when future events are able to accommodate you as soon as we can.
If we decide to cancel our events, we will let everyone booked on them know, and give you the choice of transferring your fee to a future training course, or be fully reimbursed in line with our cancellation policy.
