Friday 12th May to Saturday 13th May 2017
ATF at the Arb Show
Location: Westonbirt Arboretum, Gloucestershire
Veteran tree root eroded by sheltering sheep
At this year’s Arb Show, the ATF will be focusing on roots, and demonstrating new ways of measuring the root plates of veteran trees.
Sharon Hosegood will be demonstrating and talking about her root radar machine, and on the Saturday, Frank Rinn will be coming from Germany with his Arbortom machine. Ted Green and Jill Butler will also be speaking, and leading a tree walk around the arboretum. There will be demonstrations of veteranisation techniques, and an opportunity to find out about VETcert – the project which is developing an accreditation system for those working with veteran trees.
ATF staff and volunteers will be on hand to discuss ancient tree management issues, guidance and resources will be available to take away, and the ATF’s handbook will be on sale at a reduced price.
Entry to the Arb Show also gives you access to Westonbirt, the national arboretum. For more details see the Arboricultural Association website.
