Iconic / Famous Ancient Tree
The Discoed Yew in St Michael’s churchyard is likely to be a remarkable five thousand years old. It is probably one of the five oldest in the British Isles.
The Yew’s girth is 1128cm (37 feet) and it is male. There is also an ancient female yew tree over in the corner of the church yard by the wall.
