Ancient Trees & Sites to Visit
There are several individual ancient trees of interest, treescapes, and famous old trees in Wales.
All these sites are open to the public and we have chosen these as demonstration sites of good management practice. Many have large concentrations of ancient trees but some may be individual trees within already well known sites.
Chirk Castle has over 480 acres of estate parkland with plenty of veteran trees set in this old deer park
This Radnorshire Wildlife Trust reserve is a wooded valley with very ancient trees including oak pollards, and the remains of a motte and bailey castle.
